Julie is a dance and media artist and researcher based in Germany. Their practice revolves around choreography co-created by everyday technology, exploring evolving conceptions of what we call body and how meaning emerges from it. She usually employes modes of playful subversion and translation.
Her work spans performance, installation, and embodied interaction systems, and has been presented across artistic and research contexts such as Märkisches Museum Witten, Goldsmiths University London, Rising Sun Peckham, and Planetarium Bochum.
Paralell to their artistic practice, Julie freelances as a researcher. She develops custom sensing tools, such as the BlueBallSensors, to study continuous audience engagement in live performance. Alongside this, she contributes to interdisciplinary research projects on sustainability, including data analysis in collaborations with institutional and industry partners.
